Double E Guest Ranch – A Working Ranch Vacation

Indulge your cowboy spirit with a New Mexico working guest ranch vacation, offering plenty of cattle roundups, horse gathers, exciting horseback riding, horsemanship and mounted shooting clinics, cattle work, spectacular New Mexico vistas and the undiluted, real sensations of ranch life in southwestern New Mexico.

Try your hand at team penning, learn to rope or participate in a cattle roundup or Cowgirl Camp!

Unlike many dude ranches or guest ranches, Double E Guest Ranch is a working cattle and horse ranch. We breed and raise our own cattle and horses. Get yourself back in touch with an “old” set of priorities. Our specialty is offering you the opportunity to reconnect with what’s really important.

If you are wanting to learn new skills, improve old ones and experience first-hand what it takes to ranch and raise cattle as they did back “in the day”, then join us! We may not be the biggest but we think we’re the best — and your experience with Double E Ranch can change your life! We’re open year round – why not saddle up and join us to ride your dreams!

What’s the best vacation spot you’ve ever been on?

Tell me your best vacation spot :) mine will soon be italy or the grand canyon
Bonus: where do u want to visit the most? i would want to visit Africa the most :)

Personally, I enjoy exploring places and finding interesting features that are not necessarily well advertised. Some places that were great for me were Key West, St. Augustine and Cocoa Village in Florida. There were lots of things to see and do. The Kennedy Space Center and associated activities is interesting to many people, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time in those areas. However, I would avoid those areas during hurricane season.

Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico is an awesome place to visit. It was like nothing else I have ever seen in my life. It might even top Niagara Falls for me because at Carlsbad you can actually see everything close up and walk for miles through the caverns.

Niagara Falls is a spectacular place to visit, more suitable for couples than families with children. Be aware that it is very commercialized.

On my own list of things to do is a visit to the Grand Canyon. I haven’t been there, but I think it would be a great vacation.

If you are interested in a Canadian vacation, Canada is a huge country with much to offer, so you would have to pick an area. Atlantic Canada is amazing in terms of scenery, culture, and the friendliness of the people, and you will find many things to do, but not many of the usual "big picture" tourist scenes. Think whale watching, bird sanctuaries, cultural events, music, museums, boating, fishing, wonderful food, fantastic scenery.

If you are on a tight budget, sometimes the best vacation is close to home. Check out possibilities close to home and you might be surprised about what you will find.

Sometimes people overlook visiting a city as a vacation plan. Cities have numerous things to see and do. I spent three weeks last summer anchored on a sailboat in Washington Channel at Washington, DC, and visited many sites in Washington. The Smithsonian alone takes several days to see.

A few years ago I spent a weekend in Savannah, Georgia. I want to go back because there is so much to see in that wonderful city.

Consider the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Key West and Bermuda if you like an island vacation, and want sun, surf, and beaches. I just recently did a short cruise to the Bahamas, and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are not a US citizen, Cuba is an amazing vacation spot. Just as an aside, there were many US citizens there when I was there.

Europe is next on my list. I want to visit Greece, Ireland, Portugal, and other countries in Europe.

My own absolute best vacation was living for a year on a sailboat, on a very limited budget, but just cruising the southern US and the Caribbean, anchoring out rather than using marinas. So for you the best place to vacation is somewhere that is within your means and has the sorts of things you enjoy. I would have to say that Key West was one of my favorite places of all.

So I guess what I am saying is that the best place to vacation depends on the person doing the vacationing and there is no one answer that can apply.

What is the best vacation for an 11 yr old, 3 14yr olds, 1 16 yr old, 1 17 yr old, and 2 moms ( not lesbians)

It depends on where you want to go, but it sounds like a theme park might be a good idea….

Cedar Point is a really good one…. it’s the roller coaster capital of the world!!!

Otherwise there are parks all over the USA….
you can find them here!!!

camping is always fun….. pick somewhere where you can hike, or bike ride….
another fun one is factory tours where you learn the cool ways stuff is made!!!

You can find cool ones here:
