Where to go on a family beach vacation?

My family wants to take a beach vacation this summer but can’t really think of any good ideas. We do usually like a beach with waves and definitely fun things to do in the area like golfing. We were also thinking a beach on the east coast. Any recommendations or suggestions?

Hunting Beach Island-South Carolina
Florida Keys
Prince Edward Island-Canada
Savannah-Georgia

I’ve been to these places and they are great!
I suggest that if you have any youngins take then to Universial or Disney World in Florida

If you have children try Florida. It has Daytona, Cocoa Beach, and New Smyrna around the Central Florida Areas all within about an hour of each other. There are great attractions for the kids and family oriented things to do.things

Check out the Outer Banks (OBX) or Myrtle Beach area. Personally I love going to Hilton Head, NC it’s a great beach town and there are great places to golf. My family and I go down every year. It’s def one of those places where you can bring your family and not worry about the party scene. Just some nice r & r.

Head inland. Come to Traverse City, Michigan. Or for that matter, anywhere along the west side of the state’s Lower Peninsula. We have golf courses, vineyards, apple and cherry orchards, the Interlochen Center for the Arts (www.interlochen.org), the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore; and in the first week of July, the National Cherry Festival.

You’ve got some good suggestions. My personal favorites are:

St. Simon Island – first pick. Home of Davis Love and some of the best golfing on the east coast! The best place to stay is the Ocean Lodge. It’s fabulous!!

    Myrtle Beach

You can’t go wrong with either one!

Have you thought about Martha’s Vineyard ? It’s a cool spot because it’s an island and you really get a feel of "being away".

It’s beautiful and has lots of great beaches and 3 main towns to explore.

Our family loves it and we have a blog/website with personal pictures and tips (in the source)
