My boyfriend and I are looking to take a vacation somewhere there is a beach on the East Coast (can be on a lake. doesn’t have to be on the ocean). We are looking to go mid-July. We live in NY and were hoping to go somewhere that we don’t have to drive more than 5 – 6 hours. We are also looking for somewhere affordable, Where we can find hotels in mid-July around $200 per night, ideally on the beach or close walking distance. Can anyone suggest specific locations, or even specific hotels that might be nice and affordable?

I dont really remember details, but when I was a kid my parents used to rent a nice condo out in Cape May, New Jersey. It was some of the best vacations of my life. It was literally a five minute walk from the rental house to the beach. If you want a nice, relaxed vacation spot, I’d suggest looking up Cape May.
